LAG-IT™
Encapsulating Edge Coating
LAG-IT is used for encapsulating fibers exposed on edges or tears of duct liner. It can bond open-cell duct liner (fiberglass, polyester) and rigid duct board to metal. LAG-IT can also bond and seal jackets of canvas, cloth or other fabrics/insulators to air-conditioning ducts and cold-water pipes.
LAG-IT can be applied via brush, roller and commercial-grade airless paint sprayers.
Description
LAG-IT is a heavy-duty water-based encapsulating edge coating in black and white. It is formulated with EPA Registered preservatives that prevent mold, mildew, fungus, bacteria, and yeast growth.

Application
Apply a “tack coat” with a minimum of 20-25 mils wet film thickness coating to the insulation. Apply canvas cloth or fiberglass mesh to the top of the tack coat and gently press the lagging fabric into the coating. Ensure the lagging material is uniformly secured at the top of the coating without wrinkles. Apply a second “topcoat” of 25-30 mils wet film thickness coating to encompass the lagging fabric fully.
Spray Equipment Instructions: Follow the spray equipment manufacturer’s instructions when using spray equipment. For best results, use a commercial-grade airless paint sprayer utilizing a spray tip with a 2”- 4” fan pattern and a minimum .021”-diameter orifice.
